Whelehans Wines  aims to be as green as it can possibly be and will strive to reduce its carbon footprint as much as it possibly can over the coming months. The stated aim of the company is to move to being carbon neutral and we are determined to achieve this necessary aspiration. Check out our solar install and expect a lot more improvements over the coming months.

• We have commissioned 49 solar panels on our roof which should generate 23 kw/h of renewable energy. Like all, we have our fingers crossed for a long sunny summer and hopefully will generate lots of green energy.

• Our electricity supplier Flogas delivers us energy sourced 100% from renewable sources.

• Our national courier provider An Post minimise carbon emissions with their electric fleet. We are planning to move to an electric van in the next 3-4 months.

• We are replacing our large Dairy Wall fridge with the latest most energy efficient fridge.

• We have converted ½ of our lighting to LED, the remainder will complete over the next 4 weeks.

• We will encourage our customers to use our bags for life.

• Our web packaging is fully recyclable.

• Our buying decisions will be guided by our green policy as we look for wine partners that share our philosophy.
