Our dream was to create a unique centre of wine excellence. Where expertise, passion and determination forged an unparalleled link between exceptional vineyards worldwide our team and customers.
Our sole mission was and is, to offer wines that really tasted great and were amongst the very best examples that we could discover drawing on our 80 years of expertise. We then wanted to create a design led environment both physically and online. We encourage tasting and comparisons with our wines and live by our tagline Great Wines, Great Taste. By shipping directly the value we offer is taken as a given.
Nobody could have prepared us for the last 10 years. Yes, we have been truly tested. The macro economic changes that unfolded has forced us to iterate and reiterate multiple times. Our mission, however, remains resolutely the same, delivering wine excellence.
Today we ship directly from over 60 dedicated vineyards worldwide whose wines we believe offer a unique and wonderful experience and of course offer great value. We continue to recruit new growers and in the last two weeks (January 2024) we have recruited two great growers from Gigondas and Soave.
There have been so many changes and so many heroes who have contributed massively to the success of Whelehans Wines. So many to thank, they know who they are.

If you are new to WW we hope you visit us in store or online. We particularly recommend the 'W' Experiential Tasting Bar where we open 8-10 different wines every Friday & Saturday from 11am-5.30pm you can taste with us and put us through our paces!
