ROISIN CURLEY SAINT-ROMAIN BLANC, 2018

Hailing from Mayo, Róisín Curley MW makes small-scale wines in Burgundy. Succulent, intoxicating stone fruit draws you in, immediately followed by nuanced aromas of crème patissière and macadamia from an elegant, refined nose. This is delicious creamy, with a wonderful mouthfeel immediately cleansed by citrus acidity. It runs gently into a hug of honeyed almond finish containing a hint of minerality.

DOMAINE TORTOCHOT GEVREY CHAMBERTIN VIEILLES VIGNES, 2019

Chantal Tortochot makes wines of incredible finesse. This presents a distinctly fresh nose with late summer raspberries plus a flicker of bramble and nettle, enhanced by fresh strawberries and sweet cherries. The palate contains perfumed berry fruit, underpinned by a vibrant, tart acidity. Deliciously youthful, it has a lightness of touch that's perfect for now, but will also develop in nuanced complexity over many years.
