STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Domaine Cailhol Gautran is set amongst the rolling countryside, in the foothills of the Massif Central. The hamlet of Cailhol lies in a valley carved out by a river – the Cessière. Like the river this joins – the Cesse – it cuts through the limestone Causse of the Haut Minervois. The vineyards lie around the estate within a radius of 3 kilometres. The vineyards are planted on a sunny, south-facing limestone plateau at an altitude of 250 metres. The vineyards make up 55 hectares of vines in production, on the most beautiful terroirs of our estate. In addition we have planted 1,5 ha of Mourvedre in 2019, 2,3 ha of Grenache Noir in 2020 and soon we will plant an additional 2 ha of Syrah.
A rosé that will know how to seduce you with its finesse and Élégance.
"An antidote to hype around overpriced pink wines from Provence, a rosé from the hills of Minervois. Dry, fruity, elegant." Tom Doorley, The Irish Mail, 11/04/21
"From the Minervois appellation in the Languedoc, commonly known for its GSM (grenache, syrah, mourvèdre ) reds, this is an organic wine made from grenache and cinsault. It has an interesting nose with earthy mineral aromas and peach skin. On the palate, there's a melange of red fruits including fresh strawberries and redcurrants with a backbone of vibrant grapefruit acidity. Stylish, elegant and sassy, this would be an excellent pairing with summer salads or paella." Cathal McBride, The Sunday Business Post, 13/06/21
