Deliciously sweet, versatile and elegant late-harvest white wine

This is a soft, lightly honeyed wine made in a refreshing style balancing sweetness and acidity. Tropical fruit aromas of pineapple, peach and lime zest are all here. There is a fullness on the palate with crisp flavours of apricot, sweet lemon, bruised ripe apple and pear all rounded off with a delicious medium-length finish.
    Serve between 6 and 10˚C.

Food Pairing: Serve chilled, as an aperitif or with a meal. Excellent with foie gras, soft cheese or fruit desserts. This vintage was winner of a Silver Medal at the Hong Kong IWSC awards in 2019 for a pairing with roasted goose.

    Cellaring: Now to 2026

    STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

The while not far from Bordeaux, the Côtes de Gascogne region has its own distinct style and philosophy and the producers here (Armin and Rémy Grassa) encapsulate this magnificently in their wines. While Château du Tariquet is primarily known as a producer of fine Armagnac, the list of white wines on its portfolio reads like a who’s who of France’s most important white grape varieties. Showcasing the diversity of wines being produced in this region, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Sémillon are all made on the estate and that’s before we mention Gros Manseng, the grape behind this delicious late-harvest wine.
In Gascony, the onset of winter heralds the arrival of the first thrushes (‘Premières Grives’)) giving this wine its title and coinciding with the grape’s harvest in late autumn. A stated aim of the estate’s founder was to seek to “seduce its audience” with their wine. Why not let yourself be enchanted?
