The Guerrin’s estate dates from 1926 and can be found at the heart of the protected natural site between the Roche de Solutré and the Roche de Vergisson in southern Burgundy, just to the west of Mâcon. Today the fourth generation works a patchwork of 35 small vineyards spread over 15 hectares and various soil types. Respecting nature and farming sustainably with 90% of work done manually and fermenting with native yeasts are key to highlighting their excellent terroir. Read more.
‘Vieille vignes’ translates as old vines and this beautiful wine is made from vines from three plots totalling just 1.4ha in the exceptional historic terroir of Pouilly Fuissé, each of which is at least 40 years old. Old vines tend to deliver, as here, extra depth and concentration to a wine.
Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, about just 15% of which are new, adding flavours, without dominating, such as a little extra richness, vanilla and nuttiness to the enticing aromas of white peach and citrus to a creamy, velvety textured palate.
