A Cabernet Sauvignon defined by structure, sweet fruit, and succulent acidity

"The red variety that put Margaret River on the map, this is a still-young, polished bottling that's structured for a marathon, not a sprint. Showing a cool edge from its southern locale, there are notes of red currant, savory herbs, pencil lead, flowery soap and a lick of chocolatey oak. Lifted acidity, well-tucked oak, tangy fruit and fine-grained tannin make for a sculpted, powerful palate. There's lots of life left here."

    Cellaring:  Ideal now through 2040
Food Pairing:  Delicious with grilled lamb chops with rosemary, a classic dry-aged ribeye, or slow-roasted venison with a forest berry reduction. The wine's vibrant profile also suits duck breast with a cherry glaze, wagyu beef sliders, or a hearty portobello mushroom steak topped with melted blue cheese. For simpler accompaniments, try a selection of aged cloth-bound cheddar, braised beef short ribs, or a rich lentil and walnut roast | 🌡️ Serve at approximately 16-18°C

    STORY BEHIND THE WINE

As a cornerstone of Western Australia’s iconic Margaret River, Leeuwin Estate represents the pinnacle of Australian winemaking. Established in 1973 by Denis and Tricia Horgan - under the early mentorship of the legendary Robert Mondavi - the estate catapulted to global fame when its "Art Series" Chardonnay was named one of the world's finest by Decanter Magazine in 1981.

The “Art Series” represents Leeuwin’s most opulent & age worthy wines from each vintage. They are identified with paintings commissioned from leading contemporary Australian artists.
