    A profound and mature Rioja reserva

    Red fruits and sweet spices lead the nose, while a subtle balsamic lift adds a sense of brightness. This Reserva is silky and full-bodied, coating the palate with a creamy texture. The finish is remarkably long, blending recurring red fruit with the herbal character of the Mediterranean scrubland, capturing the essence of a warm, sunlit forest.

    STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

    Baron de Ley Reserva begins with a meticulous hand-harvest, where only the finest clusters are selected for production. After a temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, the wine matures for a minimum of 18 months in oak barrels. The estate’s commitment to quality is showcased through the constant renewal of their 31,000-barrel cellar - a vital step in crafting a Reserva of this caliber. The wine then rests in the bottle for an additional two years to reach its peak expression. Its name, inspired by the Spanish phraseSer de Ley, reflects a legacy of integrity and craftsmanship. This blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, and Maturana is sourced primarily from the 164-hectare Finca Mendavia in Rioja Oriental. Here, at an altitude of 400 meters, the team utilises responsible farming practices to harness the unique character of the region’s calcareous soils and Mediterranean climate.
