Full-bodied, Fresh Forest Red fruit, Juicy & Structured

In the glass Ravenswood Zinfandel shimmers in a deep cherry red with purple reflections. Mature plums and fresh forest strawberries dominate the bouquet. On the palate, this American red wine is very juicy with a full-bodied and intense body. The intense fruit fullness is filled with sweetly ripened berries and warm spice. The tannin is powerful, well structured and harmonizes perfectly with the fine acidity. The finale comes with a pleasant length.

Surviving prohibition by a legal loophole, Lodi boasts some of Americas most ancient Zinfandel vines.In 1976 Joel founded Ravenswood in partnership with fellow wine lover Reed Foster. Located outside of Sonoma in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains. In 1992, a few years after the winery turned its first profit , Robert Parker pronounced Ravenswood wines “first class – bold, dramatic and complex.”
