Very Far From the Super-Sweet, Super-Alcoholic Shiraz of some Barossa Valley Producers

"Very far from the super-sweet, super-alcoholic Shiraz of some Barossa valley floor producers, this has real lift and refreshment. Some salty leather notes along with the cassis and a hint of the French and American oak it was aged in. A very successful Armagh. The Barrys must be very proud of this wine in which fruit trumps camphor – but if I had a sore throat I certainly wouldnt say no. Already perfectly broachable."

17.5/20 Points Jancis Robinson, Dec 2020
97 points Robert Parker, Feb 2020

    • 70% aged in French Oak, 30% aged in US Oak for 14 months.

    STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

The iconic and renowned Armagh vineyard was named by the original Irish settlers who arrived in 1849 and called the lush, rolling hills after their home County. In 1968, the vineyard was purchased by Jim Barry who planted it with Shiraz. It has, since then, risen to become one of the very best wines Australia has to offer. Regularly achieving stellar reviews and scores from the international wine media, with a formidable reputation for its longevity and aging potential!
