A lovely fruity taste. Kept on drinking over several glasses.

It reminds me to Burgundy. Mineral, lovely acidity, and tropical fruits.
Tempranillo is unequivocally Spain’s top quality red grape variety. In the DO of Ribera del Duero and the DOCa of Rioja this variety is the backbone if not the full skeleton of all the famous wines of these celebrated regions including the legendary Vega Sicilia. It has a number of synonyms, the most encountered being Tinto -Fino, Tinta del Pais and Aragonez in Portugal.
It is the world’s 5th most planted red grape variety of which Spain grows an incredible 85% of the world’s production. When vinified it typically has a great depth of colour. The aromatic profile gravitates to red fruits aromas and it has a great affinity with oak. Wines have typically great ageing capacity. The most classical food matches would be roast lamb.
Leading wine writer Oz Clarke observes: “To get elegance and acidity out of Tempranillo, you need a cool climate. But to get high sugar levels and the thick skins that give deep colour you need heat. In Spain these two opposites are best reconciled in a Continental Climate but high altitude of the Ribera del Duero”
