Aromatically very attractive with red cherries, dark raspberries and a smoky spiciness. The palate shows balsamic, mushroom and cranberry notes along with nutmeg and vanilla spiciness. Good structure, firm tannins and an earthy profile marked with robust character and great length.

In Burgundian terms, reds from the village of Pommard in the fabled Cote d'Or have a character all of their own. They are distinctly identifiable by depth of flavour, structure and ageing ability. The Refène premier cru vineyards sit on the edge of this ancient village.
Managed by Domaine Latour-Giraud, the estate owns an impressive range of Premier Cru and Villages vineyards in the region. They also have an edge over their peers in the form of perfectionist winemaker Jean-Pierre Latour.
