All the Classic Characteristics of Quality Pommard

Relatively powerful tannins & firm structure accompanied by a bright ripe cherry fruit, laced with a stony/flinty mineral quality along with firm tannins . This is a wine for aging 4-6 years (from vintage) or for the impatient, decanted a good 2 hrs before serving.

    • 20% Oak aged
    • 94 points: "The bouquet here regales with aromas of raspberry and cherry. There's a slight background richness in the shape of spice and bramble inflections with hints of floral and vanilla from 20 per cent ageing in oak. It has a good tannic structure, plenty of juicy cherry fruit and vibrant acidity. Decant this for best results and serve with pheasant, other game birds and duck."

    STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

Marc-Emmanuel Cyrot and his brother, Olivier, are the fourth generation of the Cyrot family to be involved in wine. The wines are made traditionally; harvested by hand, de-stemmed and cold-macerated before fermentation. Oak aging of their wines is determined by the vintage character, generally between 10% and 35%.
