This is a cherry-coloured, dark wine. The aromatically intense on the nose with warming aromas of fruits of the forest and liquorice. Aged in French oak barrels imparting flavours of clove, vanilla, toffee and a hint of smoke. Light tannins with a smooth, mouth-filling texture.

Single vineyard estates, although gaining in number are not that common in Rioja and this reflects the progressive outlook by its producer C.V.N.E. The grapes are harvested from a 2.37ha plot of 30 year old Tempranillo vines.
It was only launched in 1994 so by Rioja standards is still in its infancy but it rise to the level of "iconic" is well deserved. Wine critics the world over queue up to taste each new release and the list of 95+pts scores is endless.
This is a jewel in the crown of C.V.N.E.
