A lovely fruity taste. Kept on drinking over several glasses.

It reminds me to Burgundy. Mineral, lovely acidity, and tropical fruits.
Zinfandel, or Primitivo as it is known in Italy, is a dark-skinned grape that's really made a home for itself in California, appearing in over 10% of the vineyards there. It’s actually a globetrotter with genetic ties to Croatian grapes like Crljenak Kaštelanski and Tribidrag, as well as Kratošija from Montenegro. The grape found its way to the United States in the mid-19th century, where it became known by variations of a name applied to a different grape, likely "Zierfandler" from Austria.
Zinfandel’s flavours are like a fruit basket explosion—think jam, blueberry, black pepper, cherry, plum, boysenberry, cranberry, and even a hint of licorice. Tasting Zinfandel is quite an experience: it starts with a burst of candied fruitiness, then hits you with some spice, and finishes with a smoky touch that might remind you of tobacco.
