Flinty reduction and lemony zestiness create a very appetizing nose. The palate delvers more of those zesty, juicy, mouth-watering lemon notes while the full, rounded body adds a stony depth to those ripe Amalfi lemon flavors. There is tautness, even on this generous body. The dry finish tapers beautifully into a notion of ripe lemon zest. Wine Enthusiast, 94 points
Food Pairing: Notoriously dry and ultra-crisp with phenomenal minerality, acidity, and peppy palate appeal–tend to go well with smoked fish, crab cakes, foie gras, roasted goose, pâté, and wild game
Cellaring: Ideal to drink now through 2031.
STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Winegrowing is a passion that has been passed down from father to son in the Humbrecht family since the 17th century. Domaine Zind Humbrecht today comprises of 40 hectares of vines, spread out over an array of different terroirs in the geological patchwork which is the Alsatian wine region and birthplace of our noble grape varieties.
Clear pale yellow colour. The nose shows a typical ‘limestone’ influence: still slightly reductive, smoky, and an evolution towards citrus fruits with some aeration. The palate is elegant, nicely dry with a sapid and juicy acidity. Elegant finish, racy and dry. The zesty acidity mostly shows on the finish and leaves the palate ready for some food!
