STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Conte Vistarino is a large estate (800 hectares, 200 under vine) located in the far North of Italy in the Lombardy region. Given the estates proximity, inland and just south of the Italian Alps, their wines have exceptional freshness and balance. All three of their wines, which Whelehans have recently started importing (April 2021), are well worth seeking out.
Although regarded as Pinot Noir specialists in Italian wine circles, (Vistarino are creditied with being the first to bring Pinot Noir to the Oltrapo Pavese region c. 1850.) Both Vistarinos whites are stunning examples of the varietals. This Riesling, whilst dry, has broad floral fruit a touch of honey & lime critrus mid-palate. This will work very well with spicy Thai food.
