STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Since 2011, Patrice du Jeu has invested heavily in replanting his vineyards to improve the quality of the wines. His winery is located behind the church in the centre of Chassagne Montrachet and he farms 12ha in the Côte Châlonnaise and the Côte de Beaune. The first vintage from “Clos Marcilly” was the exceptional 2014.
A classic white burgundy with beautifully integrated oak giving tropical fruit and hazelnut aromas. Well structured intense flavours abound with citrus and white flowers marrying with mineral undertones. Judicious use of oak allows the wines to reveal the quality of the terroir.
"Cracking value for such serious Chardonnay, golden, lusciously ripe, smoky, long. Single vineyard wine, to boot." Tom Doorley, Irish Daily Mail on Sunday, 27/06/21
