STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

Barbera's twin spiritual homes are Alba and Asti. So for good measure, Sarotto produces Barbera in both. The plot at Asti is one of the wineries most recent purchases and represents an interesting counterpoint to the Alba production, both having their own distinct style. This is a lighter-bodied expression than the D'Alba expression from the same stable. Barbera is the proverbial crowd-pleasing wine and few winemakers know it better than Roberto Sarotto.
