STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Owned by the Cuvelier Family owners of acclaimed super second Chateau Leoville Poyferre. Chateau Moulin Riche is one of St Julien’s best kept secrets and as far back as 1932 was classified as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.
Made predominantly from Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine displays wonderful black fruit notes, classic cedar and pencil shavings. Palate is generous with polished tannins and a wonderful evolution
92 Points Wine Spectator “A brick house, with a deep well of dark fig, plum and boysenberry paste flavors shoring this up for the long haul in the cellar, while racy graphite, cast iron and roasted apple wood notes meld fully. Delivers some bramble, anise and tobacco accents, showing serious length.” JM
16+ Jancis Robinson “Tasted blind. Aromatic in a stony way. Big and quite beefy and assertive on the palate. Proper wine with a beginning, middle and end. And sufficient fruit in the middle.” Jan 2019
