Robert Parker 91 Points“ This is worth seeking out - the best La Sirene de Giscours to date, but those with a wise head will give it 2-3 years in bottle.”
James Sucking 93 Points
La Sirene is the Second Wine of Château Gisours, 3rd Class growth Margaux in the 1855 Classification. It is a great option to access the heights of left bank Bordeaux without the, relative, expense.
Medium bodied with very good integration of dark plummy fruit and oak (30%) there’s decent complexity here with graphite/pencil shavings fine tannins lifting the rich fruit and imposing balance and rigour. Dark chocolate, raspberry and spice interweave and beguile as a touch of the renowned Margaux austerity makes its presence felt.
