Dark to the point of blackness, this is full-bodied with great concentration. Fresh with dark winter berries and complex notes of vanilla, eucalyptus, bay leaves and chocolate. With fine grained tannins, aromatics that border on hedonistic and a long, savoury finish. Decant for 2 hours.

STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

Observe, listen and respect. These are the watchwords of winemaker Michel Gassier. For him, terroir comes first. Each wine has its own identity and each are treated differently in the vineyard. "Southern Rhone" can be a catch-all term and doesnt do justice to the unique identities of many of its sub-regions. Costieres de Nimes is one such and Gassiers wines are considered its prime reference point. As if that wasnt enough, in his own words 2017 was his best vintage.
