Some of the best French wines selected by David to celebrate Bastille Day:

1x DOMAINE GUERRIN & FILS SAINT-VÉRAN LE CLOS VESSAT, 2019

The vineyard for this wine is clay and limestone based and south facing and it ripens early giving rich flavours which are captured by controlled fermentation in stainless steel before ageing for nine months on lees, which adds body and a creamy texture to the attractive peach and pear fruit with a touch of hazelnut and a clean citrus finish. Enjoy it with pork and chicken dishes but also salmon or tofu dishes.

1x DOMAINE LEBRUN POUILLY FUMÉ, 2019

This is dry Loire Sauvignon Blanc at its very best. Wonderful purity of fruits with a classic wet stone and mineral character.

1x DOMAINE MICHEL NOËLLAT ET FILS SAVIGNY-LES-BEAUNE, 2018

This vibrant, bright Pinot Noir was aged 30% in new French barriques for 13 months. This wine is all about purity and precision. For the Pinot Noir enthusiast this will prove to be charming with alluring red fruit aromas and flavours, silky tannins and well integrated oak.
Tom Doorley, The Irish Mail, 11/04/21: "Fabulously pure and vibrant Pinot Noir, with round tannins and just enough oak seasoning.

1x CHÂTEAU CAMINO SALVA, 2016

At sight it is dark purple almost ink. On the nose intense references of black fruits combine with pleasant notes of cedar, tobacco and leather. The entry into the mouth is complex and fresh, and then becomes smooth and good to drink. 56 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 39 % Merlot, 5 % Petit Verdot. 9 months in oak barrel for 50% of the production.

1x M. CHAPOUTIER CROZES-HERMITAGE LES MEYSONNIERS, 2018

Glorious notes of red fruits, blackcurrant and raspberry, followed by violet aromas. The palate is generous and full.
Jancis Robinson - 15/20, Jeb Dunnuck - 91-93/100
R. Parker - Wine Advocate - 90-92/100, Vinous - 91-93/100

1x L. BÉNARD PITOIS CARTE BLANCHE, NV

The perfect expression when the traditional alliance of the three Champagne grape varieties meets a Premier Cru terroir and the precision of a winegrower. A harmonious whole for aperitifs with guaranteed success.
2 stars in the Guide Hachette des Vins - Edition 2018
