Masterful and complex Chilean red blend

Full-bodied, polished and intensely aromatic. Opens with powerful aromas of ripe black cherries, plums and blueberries. Concentrated on the palate and well managed oak ageing giving flavours of coffee bean, vanilla and cedar alongside a fruity core of cassis and blackcurrants. Balanced with elegant tannins and savoury chocolate notes on a finish of great length. Decant an hour beforehand.

STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

This is a rare blend in many respects with the New and the Old world come together in a unique collaboration. With the expertise behind Bordeaux powerhouse Château Mouton Rothschild working on some of the very best terroir in South America, we have a wine that is iconic and standard bearer for Chilean wine. We normally associate Chile producing single varietals, so a blend of such character and distinction is new ground for wine lovers everywhere. Escudo Rojo is the Spanish translation of Rothschild and encapsulates the essence of this wine, with old world refinement meeting new world progression.
