Full bodied red from Southern Rhône

Deep color, concentrated aromas of black fruits, pepper, and tapenade, it's promising. On the palate, subtle aging notes accompany a clear, juicy, and warm fruit that gains elegance in the finish with more floral tones. Full-bodied and rich, this is a very lovely wine, with immediate charm, but it can also patiently age in the cellar without any risk.

  • Barrel aged for 12 months
  • HVE certified (High Environmental Value)
  • Blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Carignan and Cinsault.

Food Pairing: This cuvée will admirably go with grilled meat, roasted meat or games.

Cellaring: Drinking now to 2028 - This wine will reach its plenitude about its 5th year.

STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

Christian Voeux is one of the most renowned winemakers in the Southern Rhone Valley having spent 24 as cellar master at prestigious Château Mont-Redon in Châteauneuf du Pape and a further eight years as general maanger at another great estate, Château La Nerthe.

He retired to his family estate Domaine de l’Amauve in Séguret which he inherited from his parents and continuous to make wine with his wife Monique and son Nicolas. The estate is certified organic and comprises a patchwork of 11ha spread over 25 plots. Soils are diverse across so many vineyards but include limestone, gravel, clay and marl.

The origin of the name of the property comes from the mallow flower, which are present in great number around the vineyard during spring and which give off discrete floral flavours.
The wines are certified organic so the use of sulphur is limited and fermentation is by naturally occurring yeasts. Red wines are not fined and some cuvées are unfiltered.
