Tasting Notes

Delicate and linear on the palate, this is a pure, fresh, bone-dry, lean and textured, highly refined and perfectly interwoven Chenin with persistent purity, finesse, salty-mineral tension and very fine tannins. Highly finessed and so pure and vivacious! This is a chalky picture-book Haut-Lieu that can age for many years, even though it is already dangerously seductive!

STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

Nestled in the heart of the appellation of Vouvray, Domaine Huet was founded in 1928 by Victor Huet and his son, Gaston. The estate farms 30 hectares of the Chenin blanc varietal, planted across three historical vineyards: Le Haut-Lieu, Le Mont and Clos du Bourg, and is regarded as a pioneer in the culture of biodynamic farming in France. Adopted by the estate in 1988, the domain's biodynamic philosophy is focused on respecting the soil, plants and the environment, encouraging purity of expression in their wines and preserving the authenticity of terroir. They farm according to the different rhythms of the planets and honour the traditions of vignerons from centuries past.
