Why Buy Me
The Domaine du Colombier has been a family property since 1887. Today three brothers, Jean-Louis, Thierry and Vincent work the 55 hectares of vines planted exclusively to Chardonnay, and produce dry white wines that are clear, lively and light. The winemaking is carried out with great care, with the greatest of respect for the traditional Burgundian methods, allied to the advantages of modern techniques.
Chablis Premiers Crus are stylish, minerally wines that are highly underrated, with the better examples outclassing many a good village white Burgundy. The vineyards cover 750 hectares, scattered across 15 communes on isolated slopes with good exposure. There are 17 principal Premiers Crus but in total 79 vineyards are eligible. The finest bottles typically reach their apogee at eight to 10 years.
