STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Chateau Citran is one of the older Bordeaux properties in the Medoc with a history that goes all the way back to the 13th century. At the time, like most of the properties built in those days, its primary purpose was as a fortress. Today the 105 hectare property is owned and run by the Merlaut family who also run such renowned Chateau as Gruaud Larose , Chateau Ferrier , Chateau Chasse Spleen, Chateau Camensac, Chateau Gressier, & Grand Poujeaux.
Ripe and rounded. Lovely richness, with the oak only just noticeable. Finishes very tannic – but it feels right that way. Jancis Robinson 16.5/20 Points
