STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Chateau Carbonnieux has a long and extensive history in the Bordeaux wine appellation. In fact it’s one of the oldest estates in the entire Bordeaux wine region with a history dating back to the 12th century! The estate takes its name from the Carbonnieu family, who owned the property in 1234.
In modern times, since the end of WW2, this Chateau has slowly improved and often excelled at producing serious quality White Bordeaux, a much under-rated and overlooked appellation, which can offer a fine alternative to any top level fine white wine in all of France.
Robert Parker 91 Points “The Carbonnieux 2017 Blanc gives aromas of lemon pie, lime cordial, honeysuckles and almonds with wafts of cedar and white pepper. The palate is medium-bodied, tightly wound and crisp, finishing long.”
