STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Since its foundation in 1851, Bouvet-Ladubay has been a true historical monument to the Loire Valley wines. In order to open up new horizons for the House, Patrice Monmousseau reached an agreement with Claude Taittinger for the purchase of the Bouvet Ladubay by the Taittinger Group. With the complete confidence of Claude Taittinger, Patrice Monmousseau kept total control of the direction of the House which allowed the winery to preserve its family spirit. Monmousseau bought back the winery in 2015 and it is one of the most important independent wineries in the region. Read more.
If any wine was to be described as alluring this oaked Chenin Blanc is worthy of this descript. The nose has wonderful aromas of white flower and quince notes, melon and lime with a delicate minerality expressing Saumur terroir. The oak hardly detectable on the nose lends wonderful texture to the wine. Exhilarating, lively and youthful this wine has ageing capability of at least a further 5-7 years.
