Why Buy Me

Laurence, Arnaud and Clémence Mortet have been leading this Domaine since 2006. It was established in 1956. This wine, as the name indicates, comes from five separate plots on the north slope of Gevrey-Chambertin.  These plots produce small concentrated berries that deliver the fruitiness, power and velvety tannins that we seek for in a great Gevrey. The vines average age 70 years old.

Winemaker's Pitch

Considered a great vintage for the reds, a vintage of surprises is how they deem it and a splendid rival to the acclaimed vintage of 2015.

Delicious aromas of blackberry and wild strawberry dominate with subtle rose petal undertones. Well-balanced on the palate with cherry and strawberry fruits with a wonderfully long minerally finish.Thrilling Pinot!

Product Award

“The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Mes Cinq Terroirs was reduced by 30% production, with 30% whole bunch and 30% new oak. It has a well-defined blackberry and wild strawberry bouquet with subtle rose petal aromas. The palate is well balanced with supple red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit, just a subtle chalkiness to the texture toward the finish, but a very mineral-rich aftertaste in situ. This is a replica of the brilliant 2015.

Though densely textured, this red offers ripe black currant, black cherry and violet aromas and flavors. The tannins are ripe and the vibrant acidity keeps this defined on the long aftertaste. Best from 2023 through 2038.
