STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Richard Kershaw MW established his winery in 2012 with the intention of making site specific, clonal selection wines using noble grape varieties in the cool climate of the Elgin Valley. This wine is made from a specific vineyard planted with a specific clone from Dijon (CY95). 920kg harvested by hand produced 766 bottles and 24 magnums. The grapes had no enzymes or yeasts added and were allowed to spontaneously ferment with no malolactic fermentation.
The 95 clone is known for its excellent quality. It creates wines which are full-bodied, aromatic and tightly structured with great length of flavour. Fruits flavours are of white peach and nectarine. A truly elegant grand cru wine.
