The 2nd wine from one of Bordeauxs top performing estates
A taste profile of purity, concentration and lush fruits. Opens with distinct aromas of juicy blackberry, cassis, bay leafs and liquorice. STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Château Léovillé Poyferré of the St. Julien appellation belongs to the elite, almost mystical circle of Bordeaux Grands Crus. The Château has been one of the most consistently high-quality producers in the region since legendary wine consultant Michel Rolland came on-board in 1995. This is the second wine of the estate. As the producers are keen to point out, it benefits from the exact same care and attention both in the vineyard and in the cellars as the estate’s renowned Grand Vin. This is a wine designed to be more accessible in its youth and will leave you wondering just how good their Grand Vin could possibly be. 2016 also happened to be an exceptional vintage for the region.
