An immediate and intensely pure bouquet of ripe dark fruits, sage and graphite. Fresh and powerful on the palate with concentrated flavours of cassis, black plum preserve and wild strawberries with well-integrated layers of newly toasted oak in the form of dark chocolate, vanilla and caramel. With ripe tannins on a dry, generous and mineral-driven finish. Classically structured, this is an archetypal Pauillac.

STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

"This is a majestic Pichon-Baron and it may well to surpass both the 2009 or 2010" Neal Martin, Wine Advocate. A blend of 85 % Cabernet-Sauvignon, 15 % Merlot with 18 months barrel ageing in 80% new French oak. Those are the statistics behind this wine but that doesn't prepare you for the pure, sculpted craftmanship on show here. Towering, imposing and glorious, this is another stellar expression from a Bordeaux 2nd growth powerhouse.
