Brilliant Super Tuscan organic red
This wine, made from a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Cilliegiolo & 10% Cabernet Sauvignon is unequivocally a rich, mouth-filling brooding wine with layers of black fruits and spice with hints of cherry and liquorice.
Food Pairing: Herby, spicy meats and mushrooms, and tomato-based pasta dishes like lasagna.
Cellaring: Ideal to drink now but can be kept for an another 2 years.
"Montecucco is the part of Tuscany I want to visit, having had enough of the well-trodden tourist trails. It's a bit of a hidden gem, quiet, beautiful and a place where Sangiovese is king. This incredibly well-priced red is a fine ambassador for the sub-region. It's 90% Sangiovese with a little Cabernet Sauvignon and Cillegiolo. If you like serious Chianti, you'll love this. Terrific depth and lovely complexity. Savour it slowly."

Collemassari is one of Italy’s top wineries and in 2014 was voted winery of the year by the authoritative Gambero Rosso. This particularly beautiful and important winery owned by the Tipa family is located in the Montecucco DOC area of Tuscany.
