Hunter’s Wines, founded in 1979 has won more than 200 gold medals at national and international wine competitions. Family-owned, headed up by Jane Hunter who has to be one of the most honoured figures in the wine trade. Jane Hunter’s OBE for Service to Viticulture (1993), Inaugural Wine & Spirits Competition Women in Wine Award (UK, 2003), Companion to the New Zealand Order of Merit (2009), first women inducted into the New Zealand Wine Hall of Fame (2013).
