STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Marc-Emmanuel Cyrot and his brother, Olivier, are the fourth generation of the Cyrot family to be involved in wine. The wines are made very traditionally; harvested by hand, de-stemmed and cold-macerated before fermentation. Oak aging of their wines is determined by the vintage character, generally between 10% and 35%. This 1er Cru vineyard "Les Clos Roussots" actually stradles the boundry between Maranges & Santenay in the South of the Cote de Beaune.
20% Oak aged
Whislt 2018 may not be a stellar vintage for Red Burgundy, this 2018 Maranges 1er Cru represents superb value for money. Elegant & earthy, it's very old school in terms of that wonderful balance between soil and fruit. Given it's youth, decanting will help this wine sing.
