STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

The Begali Estate (10 hectares) is situated in the Valpolicella DOC in a small hamlet called Cengia. The vineyards are set amongst cherry groves.
The terroir is particularly conducive to producing intense, fragrant wines. Shortly after the Second World War, Giordano Begali became the first member of his family to produce wine though the family had worked the land for generations. He was succeeded by son Lorenzo and his wife Adriana. And now their children, son Giordano and daughter Tiliana, are equally passionate about the vineyards.
The Begali family believes it is important to respect tradition while always striving to improve quality. It shows. Each year this wonderful estate attracts many plaudits including numerous top awards from the hugely influential Italian wine guide, Gambero Rosso.
