Pingus. A small estate that packs a mighty punch. Utterly singular would be one way to describe both the history and wines of this estate. It was Danish winemaker Peter Sisseck who put this Domaine on the map with its very first vintage in 1995. In what could best be described as an overnight success, the ’95 caught the eye, and taste buds of one Robert Parker. As a result the estate was immediately catapulted into the upper echelons of fine wine and stayed there ever since. Flor de Pingus is the 2nd wine of the estate. Biodynamically produced from old vines, Wine Advocate has written of it: “In the price/quality sweepstakes, this might be Spain’s finest wine”. We’re inclined to agree.
